“The only constant in life is change.” Whether planned or unplanned, gradual or sudden, desired or resisted, change can work for us or against us depending on how we think and respond to that change. Sometimes, we have the background, skills, support, and emotional bandwidth needed to successfully adapt to life changes, and other times, we do not. When our circumstances overwhelm our resources, we struggle to adapt, and in our attempt to adapt, we may experience stress, anxiety, depression, strained relationships, and sleep difficulties. We may engage in unhealthy coping behaviors such as increased alcohol use, over/under-eating, “zoning out” through video games or television, and many other behaviors. While these attempts at coping may help in the short-term to relieve our discomfort, they are not the solution because they actually thwart our ability to grow from our life changes in a positive direction.
Through the intersection of my 30 years of business leadership experience, mental health training, and personal life experiences, I bring a unique perspective to helping others navigate various life transitions. I create an empathic, supportive, and structured environment for others to explore and address the unique challenges and opportunities that come with life changes, ultimately promoting personal and relational growth, resilience, and improved mental health well-being.
Whether you are facing a career transition such as a new leadership position, a change in job/career, or retirement, or personal/relational changes such as becoming an “empty-nester,” getting divorced or remarried, or facing challenges with your adult children, I look forward to helping you successfully navigate through the change and seeing you become an even better version of you.
