As the founder of Greater Things, I consider it a privilege to walk alongside individuals as they navigate life's challenges, pursue healing, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change. Psychology has always been more than a profession for me—it is a passion and a calling. I am continually inspired by the resilience of the human spirit and the capacity people have to grow, heal, and thrive, even in the midst of difficult circumstances.
My approach to therapy is grounded in the belief that we are all doing the best we can with the knowledge, skills, and resources available to us in any given moment—and that we all have the capacity to learn, grow, and do better. Approaching ourselves with compassion rather than criticism allows us to better understand our experiences, develop greater self-awareness, and create lasting change. Therapy provides an opportunity to explore patterns that may no longer be serving us, strengthen existing resources, and develop practical tools for living a more balanced, fulfilling, and meaningful life.
I earned my Doctor of Psychology degree from Pacific University, completed my residency at Wilford Hall Medical Center, and served as an Air Force officer and psychologist from 2000 to 2007. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds facing concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, life transitions, burnout, perfectionism, and challenges related to personal and professional growth. I have also provided consultation, education, and leadership development to military members, healthcare professionals, leaders, and teams operating in high-demand environments.
My therapeutic style is collaborative, integrative, and evidence-based. I draw from a variety of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), trauma-informed interventions, mindfulness-based practices, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and other evidence-supported treatments. Together, we identify strengths, clarify goals, and develop practical strategies that support meaningful and sustainable growth.
In addition to my clinical work, I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Practitioner, with additional training and experience in EMDR, substance abuse prevention and treatment, suicide prevention, and workplace violence prevention. I am also a certified instructor in the Prevention and Relationship Enhancement Program (PREP), Real Colors personality assessment and team development, and Trauma Sensitive Yoga.
Beyond the therapy office, I am an author, speaker, consultant, and host of the podcast Restored: Where Psychology Meets Grace. I have presented workshops, seminars, and educational programs on topics including resilience, communication, leadership, relationships, emotional well-being, stress management, and personal growth. Through speaking, writing, coaching, and the podcast, I am passionate about making psychology practical, accessible, and applicable to everyday life.
Whether someone is seeking support during a difficult season, working through longstanding challenges, strengthening relationships, or pursuing greater health and fulfillment, I am honored to be part of that journey.
