Like a rollercoaster, life has its ups and downs, twists and turns, and heart-stopping moments. The question is: How do you get back on track? After all, “life is a journey,” and I believe in LIVING it. As a psychotherapist, my primary goal is to not only listen and understand, but to more importantly, guide and empower you. We are all stronger together, and I know that you and I can collaboratively help you become the person you truly want to be.
I am a board-certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida and Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) in the state of New Jersey with a Ph.D. in counseling. I have received qualified training from innovators in the field within a multitude of supervised clinical settings, providing me with the competence to handle a wide array of mental health problems and client populations. I have years of clinical and work-related experience in the areas of anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, trauma- and stressor-related disorders, substance-related and addictive disorders, personality disorders, and co-occurring disorders. In addition to my clinical practice, I stay up-to-date on the latest in cutting edge research and evidence-based practice while teaching, training, and supervising masters-level counseling students at Florida Atlantic University, where I am an adjunct professor in the Department of Counselor Education.
I passionately believe that the heart of counseling lies in the therapeutic relationship and the empowerment of all clients. Clinically, I intend to promote an environment that reconstructs and reinforces clients’ objectives, while achieving the goals of wellness, resiliency, autonomy, and eventually, self-efficacy. Theoretically, I utilize a variety of cognitive and behavioral techniques within a transtheoretical framework to motivate and elicit sustained change. It would be an honor and a privilege to be of assistance to you in your journey toward personal growth. I cannot wait to see what you are capable of, and I look forward to working with you on your road to self-fulfillment.
