I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the state of Florida. Originally from Ohio, I moved to South Florida to pursue my doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Nova Southeastern University. While completing my graduate education, I received specialized trauma training through the Trauma Resolution and Integration Program, founded and directed by an internationally-renowned trauma expert, Dr. Steven Gold. With this comprehensive trauma training, I have established experience and skill in treating both PTSD and complex trauma related issues.
I have a diverse clinical background, having functioned as a mental health provider in many different settings including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization and outpatient levels of care. I have been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) from Marsha Linehan’s Behavioral Tech Institute. DBT is an evidenced based treatment for those struggling with Borderline Personality Disorder, chronic suicidality, self-harm, mood disorders, trauma/PTSD, substance abuse and eating disorders. DBT targets issues related to emotion dysregulation which can cause problems in living such as poor impulse control, tumultuous interpersonal relationships, mood swings, unstable sense of identity, and destructive behaviors.
While my training and experience have shaped me to be a well-rounded clinician, I have developed areas of specialization in complex trauma, borderline personality disorder, mood disorders, and substance abuse. I am known for having a personable, collaborative style and I enjoy incorporating out of the box, creative solutions/interventions. I approach the therapy relationship as a true partnership, where both parties have strengths and experience to utilize and build. With this partnership, I am to work with you in addressing the problems and barriers that are interfering with living life as the best version of yourself.
